Mario Palomares is called the "miracle teen" by doctors and nurses at Advocate Hope Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn. They threw a party in his honor Thursday afternoon just before he was released.
Palomares was struck near his Southwest Side school at the end of May and suffered severe head injuries. He is currently re-learning how to walk and speak.
