Trains are now back in service on the Forest Park branch Blue Line and traffic is moving once again on the Eisenhower Expressway.
Train service was temporarily stopped near Leavitt and the Eisenhower Expressway was temporarily shut down between Western and Damen avenues while fire crews worked. But all lanes were reopened around 4:45 p.m. and rail service was restored at 5:25 p.m.
Two people were injured but the Chicago Fire Department said those injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
