Police: Robber fired shots at off-duty officer

November 2, 2010 (CHICAGO) The incident happened Monday in the 2700-block of West 62nd Street. Investigators say two people approached the officer; one displayed a gun and demanded cash.

The victim reportedly told them he was a police officer, and one of the robbers fired a shot.

The officer returned fire and the robbers took off running.
