Dog rescued from Carol Stream fire

Investigators are trying to figure out what caused an early Wednesday morning fire at a three-unit townhouse in west suburban Carol Stream. The fire destroyed at least one of the adjoining townhomes in the 100-block of Goldenhill Street. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters rescued a family dog that was hiding under a bed. Damage was estimated at more than $100,000.

The Red Cross was helping residents who have been displaced.
