Chicago civil rights leader Wyatt receives award

Wyatt received the Edwin 'Bill' Berry Civil Rights' Award at the Golden Fellowship Dinner.

Wyatt was the first female to be a local union president of the United Packinghouse Food and Allied Workers. She has spent her life fighting for social and economic justice for laborers, minorities and women.

In addition, Wyatt and her husband founded the Vernon Park Church of God on Chicago's South Side.

Actress Cicely Tyson was also honored, and actress Angela Bassett hosted the event.
