Chicago will be one of the first cities in the nation to sell the electric model of the Ford Focus.

The motor company chose Chicago, Atlanta, Boston and Seattle as the initial markets for the vehicle. The Focus Electric is due to hit showrooms late next year.

Ford selected the markets because of commuting patterns, hybrid purchase trends and other criteria.
