Report: Free-ride passes used posthumously

Chicago's mass-transit system is losing money to passengers who have taken thousands of fraudulent free rides.

The passengers used passes issued to senior citizens who have died. The Chicago Tribune reports that the Regional Transportation Authority found at least 164 senior free-ride cards remained in use after the senior who was issued the card had died.

One card alone racked up as many as 1,400 free trips.
