Welders may have sparked a big fire in an abandoned warehouse on Chicago's South Side.

The Chicago Fire Department got the call about 11:20 Tuesday morning.

At one point the building in the 1500-block of West 33rd Street was engulfed in flames.

Thick black smoke filled the sky and could be seen for miles. It brought out a big response from the fire department, but about an hour later, the fire was out.
