It appears fewer people are dropping coins into the Salvation Army's red kettles.

The Salvation Army reports donations have decreased by 13-percent so far compared to this time last year.

The red kettles have been on streets and shopping centers since November 19. The goal is to raise $12 million to fund the emergency and social services provided by the metropolitan division. It serves more than 112,000 people during the holiday season.
