Oil-covered dog found, taken to shelter

December 24, 2010 (CHICAGO HEIGHTS)

The Humane Society in Chicago Heights is caring for the dog.

It was brought to them by a Cook County Animal Control officer who found it in neighboring Ford Heights.

Humane Society workers washed the dog with hand soap to get rid of the grime that they believe was dirty motor oil.

The dog is a 4-year-old pit bull mix, and the shelter hopes to make the dog available for adoption.
