Credit card interest rates reach new high

January 28, 2011

While the new card act helped crack down on certain fees and requires more disclosures, it did not cap interest rates.

The website says consumers with a credit score below 599 can expect to find an APR of 24 percent or higher if you can get a card.

Even with a credit score between 600 and 649 consumers will see rates around 20 percent. And those with scores between 650 and 699 can find rates ranging between 15 and 19 percent.
