Abraham Lincoln left Illinois for the White House 150 years ago Friday, and said goodbye with a heartfelt speech.

On Friday, people in southwest suburban Lockport joined in a nationwide effort to honor Lincoln and set a world record for the most people to read a document aloud simultaneously.

Organizers say it will be several weeks before they know if they broke the Guinness World Record.

It was set in 2006 when 223,363 people read "Charlotte's Web" aloud.
