The luck of the Irish was with one woman on Sunday.

Sarah Goreck was crowned the St. Patrick's Day Queen.

The 21-year-old is a student at DePaul University and is from Norwood Park.

The queen's contest took place Sunday afternoon at the Bailey Auditorium on West Washington.

Gorecki and her court were selected from a group of 90 young women.

The Queen's Court includes Sara Marie Collins, Margaret Flisk, Erin Mulcahy and Kelley McKenna.

They'll take part in the St. Patrick's Day parade and other events around the city.

Chicago's St. Patrick's Day parade is Saturday, March 12 at noon.
