Chicagoans celebrate the city's birthday

A big birthday bash was held Friday to mark the day Chicago received its official city charter.

People gathered at the Chicago History Museum for a 174th birthday party.

Bleeding Heart Bakery made a special birthday cake for the occasion, one marking some big events over Chicago's long history.

When Chicago became a city on March, 4 1837, the population was just under 4,200 people.
