The Brookfield Zoo celebrated National Pig Day on Saturday.

One of Brookfield's newest residents, an American guinea hog named Maple was the guest of honor.

Visitors took part in a parade to the Mamill Family Play Zoo.

There, kids could take part in pig-themed activities, which included playing with mud.

National Pig Day was started in 1972 to celebrate the pig's qualities and attributes.
