Chicago Bulls fans are dreaming of an NBA championship.

And for good reason: The Bulls have the best record in the NBA's Eastern Conference.

At 11 a.m. on Friday, Bulls playoff tickets went on sale, triggering long lines outside the United Center.

Bulls fan William Hall could not be happier about the chance to secure playoff tickets for he and his brother.

"Last time I was really excited about the Bulls was when Michael Jordan was playing but I'm really excited now," Hall said.

With the Chicago Bulls leading the race for the No. 1 seed in the NBA's Eastern Conference, hopes are building for a long overdue successful post-season run.

Tickets for the first two rounds of Bulls' playoff games went on sale Friday morning.

Frigid fans camped out in the March cold for the coveted offering.

The cost: Anywhere from $40 for standing room only to $275 for premium seats during Round 2.

"I'm pretty excited. This is my first playoff time. It's pretty fun," said Bulls playoff ticketholder Alejandro Carrillo.

The Bulls lead the Boston Celtics by one game with 12 regular season games remaining.

Gary Gorham wasn't able to get playoff tickets, but is settling for the team's game against the Grizzlies. "I have been working for the last four weeks without a day off, and I said, 'I'm getting me some Bulld tickets,'" Gorham said.

Bulls playoff tickets aren't the only thing fans have in their sights, and some retailers say the rush to get team gear has already begun.

"Everybody's coming in for Derrick Rose jerseys," said Sahsa Alvarez with Clark Street Sports.

Although the Bulls were in the playoffs last year, higher hopes are being fueled by renewed hoop dreams.

"Right now, with the Bulls being the number one contender, that surprised everyone, and with the chemistry of the team and D. Rose probably being the MVP candidate this year, people are finally picking up on it," said Max Waisvisz with Gold Coast Tickets.

The Bulls' 51 wins, so far, is the team's highest total since the 1997-98 season, which is also the last year the team won a championship.

If the Bulls advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, the date of sale for those game tickets will be announced later.
