On this Holy Saturday, the Archbishop of Chicago blessed Easter baskets in a city and a suburban church.

The first of Cardinal Francis George's two festive occasions was on the Northwest Side, in St. William Parish. Following tradition, he sprinkled holy water on parishioners' baskets, which were filled with samplings of Easter foods.

Later, the cardinal blessed Easter baskets in St. Beatrice Church in west suburban Schiller Park.

On Saturday night, Cardinal George was the main celebrant at an Easter Vigil Liturgy at Holy Name Cathedral. Hundreds of adults were baptized and received into the Catholic church.
