A 12-year-old girl from Lockport who suffers from an auto-immune disease that causes hair loss has a whole new look.

Sarah Walczak spent a lot of time at Salon Hype Saturday afternoon getting her new hair styled.

Mackenzie Cronin is wearing a bob now. The Hinsdale girl donated 12-inches of her hair to make a wig for Walczak. The two girls met for the first time at the salon.

It was an overwhelming experience for Walczak's mother.

"I can't explain the emotions that we have because she hasn't had hair since she was 4, so we are ecstatic," said Sarah's mom Cheri Walczak.

Walczak's new wig was specially made by a company in New Zealand. The teaching staff at Homer District 33C pooled their money to pay for her hair.
