A man who did not know former governor Illinois Rod Blagojevich approached his home, rang the doorbell and was invited inside Tuesday morning.

Bhanu Raval, of Rogers Park, spent several minutes talking with Blagojevich.

Afterward, Raval told reporters he felt compelled to talk with Blagojevich because of the former governor's efforts on behalf of senior citizens.

"This man, Blagojevich, he's helping the senior citizens. I have free bus pass, and that's why I came here by bus, to say to him, 'God Bless you, and you'll be back soon,'" said Blagojevich.

Blagojevich is not talking publicly about his pending prison sentence.
