Members of five local activist groups protested outside the office of Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez on Monday. They are calling for new hearings for dozens of inmates who claim to have been tortured into false confessions under Burge.
Burge was convicted in June 2010 for lying about police torture and sentenced to four and a half years in prison.
Alvarez did not comment Monday.
