Walgreens is adding electric vehicle charging stations to 800 of its stores.

Company officials say the devices will be installed at locations across the country by the end of the year.

The Deerfield-based drugstore chain was the first retail partner announced for a $9 million public charging station rollout headed by the company 350 Green.

The company said six of the 73 Chicago-area charging station sites are finished and 18 more of them will be complete in the next few weeks.
