A northwest Indiana teenager has died from gunshot wounds after police say he and a friend were lured to Chicago's Far South Side to buy car parts.

It happened just after 8 a.m. Thursday at 127th and South Union Avenue in the city's West Pullman neighborhood.

Police say two 17-year-olds had driven to the site in a truck. They were responding to an advertisement about buying vehicle parts. There, two suspects robbed the teenagers, and shot one of them. He later died.

Police say both teenagers are from Hammond, Ind. Their identities have not been released.

No one is in custody.
