Bryan Roehr, 24, is being held on $750,000 bail.
Roehr was charged with possession of explosives or incendiary devices and criminal damage to property after police say he blew up a dumpster outside a Bensenville church.
Our news partner, the Daily Herald, reports police searched his home and arrested him Thursday night.
Police say they checked Roehr's basement because a man reported that Roehr sent him text messages threatening to bomb the bedroom of the man's son.
