Although there has always been some demand for second hand clothing, the awareness, demand and acceptance has increased in recent years. A new vintage clothing store in Andersonville, Mr. & Mrs. Digz, carries high-end designer vintage without the designer prices.
Additionally, the shop carries over 26 Chicago-based designers and donates percentages of their sales to non-profits and other organizations. After being laid-off from her job in 2009, owner Emilia Dlugolecka went from unemployment, to depression, to owning a successful boutique business in just over two years.
