Chicago Police officers and firefighters were honored for their actions above and beyond the call of duty.

Awards were handed out Tuesday in a ceremony at City Hall.

One of the recipients is Fire Lieutenant Andre Raiford. He was given the Lambert Tree Award for helping rescue an 80-year-old woman from a burning building last year in the 2400-block of West Jackson.

The woman survived thanks to Raiford's actions.

At least 27 firefighters and police officers received awards at Tuesday's ceremony.
