Ford and Chrysler are accused of misleading consumers with ads that claim some of their cars are "American made" when the are really manufactured in Canada or Mexico.

The Made in the USA Foundation has filed a complaint against both automakers with the federal trade commission.

Ads for the Chrysler 300 say it is "Imported from Detroit." It is actually made in Ontario.

The Ford Fusion is made in Mexico. Ford says the next generation Fusion will be made in the US.

A Chrysler spokesperson says the complaint is without merit.
