South Holland teen recognized for helping US troops

People across the country turned out to help others for Make a Difference Day, including 15-year-old Glennita Williams of South Holland.

She boxed up care packages with personal care items, a handwritten note and Twinkies for U.S. troops.

Williams first shipped items to the men and women in the military when she was just in the fifth grade. At that time, a friend's father was in Iraq and told her he was craving Twinkies.

Williams received one of 10 Prudential Spirit of Community awards for her project.
