Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel honored 25 city employees Monday for their superior public service.

They are recipients of this year's Kathy Osterman Awards.

The mayor thanked them for improving the quality of life for residents across Chicago. The awardees represent the Chicago Park District, the CTA, City Colleges of Chicago, and the Chicago Housing Authority.

The program is named in honor of the late Kathy Osterman, who served as executive director of the Mayor's Office of Special Events.
