October 27, 2011 (LOCKPORT, Ill.) --
A man trying to steal copper wire from a southwest suburban park was killed when a power line fell on him. Lockport police say they found the man trapped by the power lines and on fire.
No rescue attempt was possible because the electricity had charged the ground.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire and retrieve the body after ComEd workers cut the electricity.
