Gospel Fest will return as a stand-alone festival, based in the Bronzeville neighborhood, according to the city's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
This year, the music event was featured for one day as part of Taste of Chicago.
Cultural Affairs and Special Events Commissioner Michelle Boone says the festival will remain free and be funded by sponsors. Talent will be both local and big-name musicians from around the country.
Specifics, such as the location of festival sites, are still under consideration.
