Candles, air fresheners triggering allergic reactions

Those pumpkin spice candles and pine scented air fresheners may be triggering allergy symptoms.

Allergists say, as the popularity of scented products has risen, so have complaints from patients about reactions to them, everything from runny itchy noses and sneezing to asthma attacks.

Experts say there is no allergy skin test for air fresheners but people can definitely have a physiologic response to it.

The information was scheduled to be presented at the American College of Allergy and Asthma.
