Bald eagles to be set free

Two young bald eagles that were raised in captivity after their nest fell were expected to be set free Saturday.

The eagles originally made their home in a pine tree in west suburban Batavia.

In late May, the nest -- along with the two baby eaglets -- fell out of the tree.

Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation in Utica reconstructed a nest made of conduit hard cloth and stainless cable ties. The staff there has been taking care of the eagles ever since.
