Sugary drinks may pose heart risk to women

November 14, 2011

Doctors point out that can be dangerous to a woman's health.

Researchers at the University of Oklahoma studied more than 4,000 people middle-aged and older. They compared those who drank two or more sugary drinks a day to people who drank one or less. They found women who drank at least two had increasing waist sizes and were nearly four times more likely to develop fats in the blood.

Researchers did not see the same trend in men.
