November 17, 2011 (MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill.) --
A northwest suburban mother is accused of deliberately injuring her infant son. Thirty-three-year-old Veronica Perez of Mount Prospect is charged with aggravated battery. Prosecutors say she fractured the leg of her six-week-old son.
Monday, police were called to Lutheran General Hospital, where the child was being treated.
Perez was charged after officers interviewed her about the boy's injury.
