Whooping cough cases up to 110 in McHenry County

Confirmed cases of the disease have increased from 8 to 110 in just three months, according to the McHenry County Department of Health.

Those cases were reported in 21 schools in 12 McHenry County communities.

Whooping cough symptoms can include severe coughing that could cause vomiting, loss of breath, and in some cases, it can turn a person's tissue blue due to a lack of oxygen.
