Report: Many charter school scores no better than CPS

November 30, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Some charters are doing much worse, according to Chicago Sun-Times report.

State achievement test results being released Wednesday show more than two dozen schools within charter networks scored well short of district averages on key standardized tests.

The Sun-Times reports that only one of nine Chicago multi-site charter operators Noble Street beat the district-wide average of all Chicago public schools for the percent of students passing state tests on every campus it oversees.
