It's a tribute to seven women vocalists: Mahalia Jackson, Dinah Washington, Mavis Staples, Minnie Riperton, Chaka Khan, Anita O'Day and Jennifer Hudson. Their works cover the musical spectrum of gospel, jazz and rhythm and blues.
Actress, Jasmine Guy (from The Cosby show and A Different World) serves as the event's honorary chair and will welcome the audience and stay for a VIP reception following the performance.
