During the holidays, the Illinois Secretary of State is cracking down on drivers who illegally park in spots reserved for the disabled.

The goal is to keep those spots open for people who need them.

On Saturday, state police were in suburban Niles. A spokesperson for the Secretary of State Jesse White said they inspected 53 cars and ticketed two drivers.

The crackdown will continue through the end of December at malls across Illinois.
