ABC7Chicago.com has some new and exciting features on our traffic page on ABC7Chicago.com that will help you avoid traffic troubles all day long!
The traffic tab is on every page at ABC7Chicago.com; Just click on "traffic" on the left navigation bar. From there, select the interactive maps, which will take visitors to that page
Motorists can customize the interactive map to get personalized traffic information. By clicking on the filter icon, drivers can add congestion layers, traffic incidents, construction alerts, special events like a Bulls or Bears game, and also see alerts for mass transit lines like the CTA and Metra.
The map can be customized with a base, satellite, or hybrid view.
Another useful tool -- scroll down below the map and click "directions." Type in a current location and destination. Drivers will not only get directions between the two, but also the travel time with and without current traffic conditions.
To sign up for customized traffic alerts that are specific to chosen routes, register on the traffic page, and alerts will be sent when there is a traffic problem in the selected area.
