Woman gets 58 years in candy shop owner's murder

December 8, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Twenty-five-year-old Kerry Masterson received 58 years in prison for the 2009 murder of Michael Norton. He owned Norton's Sweet Shop at North and Cicero in the city's West Humboldt Park community.

Prosecutors say Masterson, her boyfriend and Beatrice Rosado plotted to rob and kill Norton after he evicted Masterson and her boyfriend.

Masterson's friend and boyfriend are already serving time for Norton's murder.
