In the Loop, the rate will be $5.75 per hour from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. The cost in the central business district outside the Loop will be $3.50 an hour. In all other areas of the city the rate goes up to $1.75 an hour.
The new rates go into effect January 2 in the Loop and then moves out into the neighborhoods.
