2 firefighters injured on duty at South Side fire

Two Chicago firefighters were hurt while battling a blaze at a South Side home.

The house in the 7900-block of South Colfax caught fire just before 12 a.m. Sunday.

One firefighter suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation. The other slipped on ice and hurt his knee.

Four people had to leave three nearby homes that suffered smoke and heat damage.

There was no word Sunday morning on the cause of the fire.
