Metra moving after disabled freight train delays

Trains in and out of Joliet on the Metra Heritage Corridor and Rock Island District lines began moving again Tuesday morning after being halted because of a freight train that became disabled near the Joliet yard.

But commuters were experiencing delays of up to an hour and a half. The freight train had been blocking tracks for both lines.

The Joliet yard is a major Metra hub.

Metra tells ABC7 that Rock Island trains coming out of Blue Island, however, have their own yard and were operating normally.
