Rejected sticker designer gets to keep prize

The teen whose city sticker design got rejected by the city of Chicago will get to keep his $1,000 bond prize.

City Clerk Susana Mendoza changed her mind on the sticker, saying it may be misconstrued as containing gang symbols.

Herbie Pulgar has said his design was meant to honor city firefighters, paramedics and police and did not contain gang symbols.

On Thursday, Mendoza said she will pay for the teenager's bond from her own pocket.

runner-up will also get the bond prize.
