Winter returns with lake-effect snow watch Friday

February 9, 2012 (CHICAGO)

"We do have a lake-effect snow watch in effect starting tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m. And that will be in effect for 24 hours for Cook, Will, Lake and Porter counties over in Indiana," said ABC7 meteorologist Jerry Taft. "We are expecting a cold front and the cold front is expected to give us some snow as it passes midday."

Up to six inches of snow could fall along the lake, especially south and east of Chicago across northern Indiana.

The snow will be followed by falling temperatures. Highs in the 20s are expected this weekend.
