The wait is almost over for Sony's newest handheld gaming system.

The PlayStation Vita debuts in the U.S. on Wednesday. It's already available in Japan.

The basic Wi-Fi version will sell for $250. The 3-G version costs $300 plus monthly service fees from AT&T.

The Vita has a 5-inch screen and two cameras.

The handheld gaming system can also connect to PlayStation3 so users can play more games.
