A CTA Blue Line train was delayed early Monday morning by an unusual trespasser on the tracks.

Chicago police say the train's conductors stopped to avoid an injured rooster near the Logan Square stop on the city's Northwest Side.

Police do not know how a bird normally found in a barnyard managed to find its way onto the tracks.

The rooster was turned over to Animal Care and Control.
