People filed into the Wilmette Park District board meeting Monday night to argue against the plan. They say the fence would limit entry into to the south beach at Gillson Park.
Commissioners who support the plan say they need the fence to keep people from swimming there without supervision.
The fence is on schedule to be installed by Memorial Day if the board approves a bidder.
There is no word yet on when a vote may take place.
