Woman allegedly forged Mega Millions ticket

An Elgin woman is faces additional felony charges in connection with an alleged lottery scam.

Prosecutors say Leandria Williams bought a Mega Millions Lottery ticket online minutes after the $656 million jackpot drawing on March 30th. They say she played numbers that were drawn in that game, altered the time on the ticket and then claimed to be a winner.

Williams was arrested on April 16th. She has been indicted on wire fraud, attempted theft and forgery charges.
