It happened in the 6500-block of South California.
The boys, ages 14 and 15, were visiting someone when two male suspects approached them. Police say the two suspects asked the boys if they were affiliated with a gang and when the boys told them no, the shooters fired.
Both victims are in critical but "stable" condition. no one is in custody.
